Margaret & Stewart: PYT - May 2009

This is a video of my friends Margaret and Stewart doing their surprise 1st dance at their wedding, which I choreographed. :) Only Margaret's mom and brother knew about this, so it was a HUGE surprise to their guests! I was soooooo proud of them! They did an amazing job! Plus they danced to one of the best songs, PYT by the one and only Michael Jackson!
Here is what Margaret had to say about her experience: "Christine Baker is an outstanding dancer, choreographer and instructor! My husband and I had a wonderful time learning our first dance (surprise hip hop/jazz routine) with her. She was able to choreograph a unique dance that incorporated elements we loved with the music of our choice. She was even able to get my hesitant not so limber husband who had absolutely no dance background to perform fluid body rolls in front of over 300 guests =) Our wedding guests were amazed and the dance was one of the most memorable events of that night. We were extremely satisfied with her teaching style and she made the whole process fun (my husband and I had lots of laughs), unintimidating, and enjoyable." Emily & Anthony: California Love - May 2010

Here is the video of the last rehearsal for Emily & Anthony's surprise 1st wedding dance! It is a hip hop routine to 2Pac's "California Love." Considering the fact that these two are beginners, they did a great job learning the choreography and bringing out their "gansta" style!
Here is what Emily had to say about her and Anthony's experience: "When Anthony and I planned our wedding, I code-named it "Project Good Times", because we really just wanted our family and friends to have fun! With that, I thought what better to kick off the reception than the surprise first dance? And better yet, adding some hip hop moves! I've always liked hip hop but always figured that it's hard to make it look good. Anthony grudgingly went along with the idea - he's never had any dance experience. I went on a search for hip hop classes, and soon after, we met Christine - and she was everything we were looking for - original, creative, patient, and had a teaching style that breaks down each move such that we were able to pick it up quickly. And she's a sweetheart! We felt instantly at ease with her. She listened carefully as to what style we liked and what what we were looking for, and chereographed moves that were sassy and fun. She also went above and beyond in connecting us to a friend who was able to cut the music for us. After 4 classes with her, we were performance ready and used our 5th class to brush up on the moves. While Anthony thought it was only possible for him to remember one minute of chereograph, we ended up with a good 3 minute of dance that we easily tackled. The surprise dance was a hit - everyone still can't stop talking about it. Thank you so much Christine - for making the impossible possible!"
